My first 5k run went great. Hemarie and ran it together. We ran it in 35 minutes. We usually run it in 30 minutes, but we were bobbing and weaving around all the walkers. We had not anticipated that. Next time we’ll start more towards the front of the race.
Our next race will be in January. It is a 5k that is through the streets of Winter Park, which will be beautiful.

I look really rough.
It’s early and I’m about to run 3.1 miles!

Went on a quick and last minute trip up to DC this past Sunday and Monday. We went for the Saddleback Civil Forum with President Bush. It was on National AIDS Awareness Day and was talking with him about the PEPFAR (Presidents Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief) program that he set up in 2003/2004. It has done amazing things for those over in Africa.
I was about 12 feet away from the President (who was on stage talking with Rick Warren) and I sat next to his daughter Barbara Bush and two seats away from the first lady! And Cameron was able to go back and meet the President for about 10 minutes! What a crazy day! And I am such a dork cuz I made Cameron take a photo. Ha!

I totally forgot the best part of my trip to Colorado Springs…
I, Maya Elaina Strang, BEAT both Tia and Dana in a game of Dutch Blitz. The first time EVER for me to do that. I literally screamed out with joy when I won.
Oh good times!

I had a great time visiting Colorado Springs last week. Dana came out for the weekend which was a lot of fun. Here are a few photos:
Dana and Tia enjoying free tea at Celestial Seasonings in Boulder.
We took the free tour and bought a bunch of tea on sale.

Dana and I possing in front of the giant tent monkey.

We took a hike at the Eldorado State Park (or something like that) in Boulder.
The scenery was of course beautiful.

The next day we went to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
The red rocks were amazing.

The girls in front of the balancing rock. (or some name like that)

My second to last day there it was a high of 48 degrees.
So I decided to bundle up and go for a walk. I loved it!

A photo of the girls before Dana went to the airport.

I’m so sorry for not being a blogger lately. I have reasons for not blogging, but who really cares…
Right now I’m in Colorado visiting my favorite person Tia Stauffer. On Saturday Dana Carey comes out too. I’m so excited for all three of us to be together again. We were work out buddies, cake class buddies, movie buddies, hang out buddies, etc. when they all lived in FL. They really did become by best friends. I’ll upload pictures later.
Cameron is home and is taking care of McKenzie. Now I honestly do about 95% of the “caring” for her. So I was a little nervous about him having to do all her walks, etc. So he is just bringing her to the office with him every day and she is LOVING IT! She is following him around to all his meetings. She walks around and checks in on the staff. He calls her his intern. She even when home with one of our employees for lunch so she could play with her dogs. Oh goodness..McKenzie really is like our kid. Here are a few photos of her hanging out in Camerons office. Makes my heart happy.

So most of my friends have not seen our new place yet, so I figured I’d post a few photos. We both really love living here. You can walk or ride your bike to get food. A full size Publix just opened about two blocks away. And having a third of the living space to clean is awesome!

I’ve been wanting to blog lately, but haven’t had my computer at home. Of course now that I do have my computer I can’t really think of anything to blog about. So here are three random thoughts…
-I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte today. It was soooo good! I need to get a pumpkin bagel with pumpkin cream cheese from Einstein Bagels.
- It is in the 70’s in the morning and evenings with a nice breeze. It actually feels like Fall here. The DJ on the radio said he was going home and light up his fireplace. That is silly!
-One of my New Years Resolutions this past year, that I am trying to keep, is to become a runner. I have been running once a week with friends for about two months now. Right now I am trying to train for a 5k at the end of November. I will need to start running twice a week starting in October. Of course if God’s plan is for us to get prego before then, then I would totally not run. Ha! I’m stretching for excuses.

Cameron and I went to California in June for 10 days. We flew into San Francisco, went up to wine country, drove down the pacific highway to LA, hung out in Orange County, went out to Vegas for a day and then flew home. It was packed full, but was an awesome trip. It was actually my first time in CA…northern CA is my favorite. Here are a few pictures…
I loved the trolley in SF.

Us at the Golden Gate Bridge. Seriously beautiful up there.

Having lunch at a vineyard in Sonoma county.

The pacific ocean is FREEZING!

We stopped almost every mile to jump out and take a photo as we drove down the pacific highway. Again, it was so beautiful!

Us at a Dodgers game in LA. Neither of us are big baseball fans, but we really enjoyed going to the game. I got a hat and Cameron got a shirt, so now the Dodgers are our team. Yes…it’s that simple.

Stevie K. took us off roading in his Jeep while in Orange County. It was really fun.

They were filming the 2008 World Series of Poker while we were in Vegas and we were able to walk around while they played. There were rooms filled with poker games going on. It was neat to see.
